At Stikly, we take your privacy very seriously. This policy describes how we handle your information.
1Information We Collect
Stikly does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All notes and data you create are stored locally and exclusively on your own device (PC). We do not have access to them.
Your notes are saved as individual .json files in a
notes folder inside the application's data folder
(%APPDATA%\stikly\notes), together with a small settings
file that remembers your theme preference. When you delete a note from
the notes panel, the file is moved to your Recycle Bin. You can back
up, move or delete these files at any time. Uninstalling Stikly does
not remove them.
Stikly can optionally check for new versions. This is off until you
say yes the first time you run the app, and you can turn it off
anytime in “My notes”. When enabled, the app makes a request to
GitHub’s public API (api.github.com) to read the latest
release. No notes, identifiers or personal data are sent, but GitHub,
like any server, receives your IP address with the request.
2Use of Information
Since we do not collect any data, we do not use your information for any purpose. All information you generate remains on your device and under your exclusive control.
3Third-Party Services
Our application does not use third-party services (such as analytics, advertising, or tracking) that could collect information about you.
This applies to the Stikly application. Our website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when you visit the site. The website also stores your theme preference (Auto, Light or Dark) in your browser's local storage; this value never leaves your device.
Our website keeps an anonymous download counter. When you click a download button, a single number is incremented on our server. No IP address, device information or any other data is stored with it.
4Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page. We recommend that you review it periodically.
